pencil strokes ft. kaeya
you and kaeya were on a picnic date. well, not a date. it originally was going to be a hangout with all your friends like albedo and rosaria. but they all managed to bail out, leaving you and kaeya alone. "huh, i can't believe they managed to bail out so fast? i've been planning this for weeks!" you cried to kaeya as you both set down the blanket to sit on. he smoothed out the creases in the blanket,
"rosaria told me she had a shift and albedo needed to take care of klee." kaeya replied, pulling the basket onto the floor. you sighed,
"i know... im just so sad because we havent had time to hang out at all."
"hey. at least you have me here." kaeya said as you glanced at him. somehow, he always manages to look picture perfect. he's such the perfect muse. you pulled out a sketchbook from your tote bag, given by kaeya, onto your lap. kaeya picked off a strawberry from one of the tupperware, eating it. the light made kaeya look ethereal. out of this world, even.
Tumblr media
kaeya noticed how your attention wasn't really on what he was doing but him specifically. he was about to ask you what you were doing but he heard the soft pencil strokes, and your tongue is sticking out.
oh of course, you were drawing... him?
"whatcha drawin', name?" he asked as you hummed in response. that really answers everything doesn't it.
"you. stay still please." you answered, placing your pencil down and framing kaeya with your fingers. he rolled his eyes but stayed still despite his attutude.
"if no one would eat the food, it will get cold."
"use my vision." your dominant hand stayed in the exact position of where you left off in the drawing. your other hand jingling with your pyro vision. you tossed it to the cryo wielder who just caught your vision, and he thanked the archons that it didn't slip out of his hands.
after twenty-ish minutes, he was impaitent and his bones are crunching on him. the blue haired male asked, "are you done yet?"
he moved a bit closer to you, you could feel the warmth from his face. unfortunately, he did move from his spot. you shooed him away, "no and stop moving."
"this isn't an oil painting, name. hey, do you think i'd draw better than you?"
you rolled your eyes, "sure, kae." you pulled out a paper from your sketchbook to kaeya and a clipboard. "go ahead, draw me." you were already finished with your sketch of kaeya. you picked up a sandwich that was shaped like a heart.
"okay."
Tumblr media
"are you done, name?" he believed that you were still working on the same sketch as last time.
"yes, are you, kae?"
"yes. ok, reveal in three."
Tumblr media
one drawing was created with grace and passion and the other was kaeya's. kaeya's drawing of you was messy and he really did try his best. you snifled a laugh,
"it's beautiful kaeya. i'll frame this and put this above my bed."
"thank you." he replied, picking up the drawing you did for him. you may have made him look more charming as usual or at least thats what you think. "you even got my charms correct... i mean, it's not as wonderful as mine but i'll frame this too."

kaeya alberich x reader // genshin impact.
tw/cw: not sfw, 18+ content, minors dni, afab reader, semi-public, fingering, dubcon
Tumblr media
kaeya moves like the first chill of winter—deceptive in its mildness, but the precursor to a raging blizzard.
it starts as a simple suggestion:
“dear, do you think you could wear that dress for me tonight? you know, the one i brought back from liyue?”
you should have anticipated this. but his cool gaze, his aloof smirk as he casually made the request—they were hardly different from his usual wily manner.
and the dress was a gorgeous thing, azure silk draping your form like the waterfalls scattered across teyvat, cascading down your legs. of course, you were flattered to receive it, and even more flattered at the way kaeya’s gaze roved over your form once you donned it, his praise drifting past you as light as snow fall.
“why, i think i have a great eye for beauty, wouldn’t you agree?”
of course you noticed the slit in the thigh of the dress, how easily the fabric could part if you sat a certain way, but you figured that was what attracted the cavalry captain’s eye. he’s hardly subtle about his taste for the the risqué, about his keen desire to see you flush with embarrassment in public.
but it seems that, like many things about kaeya, you underestimated just how far he would want to push your limits.
kaeya nods his head charmingly at cyrus from the adventurer’s guild, his chin cradled in his right palm. if one were to look closer, however, they’d recognize the sharp glint to his eye, even more piercing than it usually is, like a secret laid bare in plain sight, just waiting to be noticed.
his other hand is busy, his fingers plunged into your tight heat, stroking mercilessly against that swollen, slick part of you that has your hand gripping his wrist under the table. it’s a futile attempt to stop his advances, even with your thighs clenching as tight as they can around his wrist. he seems to find great amusement in your resistance, hiding a smirk into his wine glass every time he takes a sip and feels you tremble. you're only thankful that the tablecloth hides his actions, and that tonight is an especially rowdy night at angel’s tavern.
it started with a slip of his hand. “sorry,” he said to you as his hand nudged your exposed thigh, sounding not the least bit sorry, even as he had to scoot over even closer once another member of the guild joined your table.
the second time it happened, his hand planted warmly on your thigh, stroking your skin with the pads of his fingers, you slapped it away, shooting a furtive glance at cyrus. thankfully he didn’t seem to notice, intent on retelling a story about an encounter with a hillichurl camp. the third time, though, kaeya’s hand moved even farther up, the tips of his fingers grazing the edge of your panties. you shot him a look.
and found him waiting for you to, meeting your gaze with no small measure of mirth. cyrus left to grab another drink, and kaeya mouthed to you,
“let’s see how far we can go.”
your panties were useless protection against his avaricious probing, against the sheer dexterity and skill of his fingers. you bit down on your lower lip when his thumb began to join in the fun as well, rubbing insistent circles against your sensitive cluster of nerves. he knew your body well—could pluck your strings and play you to any tune he wanted, and you’d be helpless but to have your body react the way he wanted it to.
you tense around his fingers, not quite able to stifle your moan with a cough. your walls spasming in aftershocks, kaeya drags them slowly out of you, wiping your slick on the skin of your thighs before he discreetly brings his hand to his face, curling them around his mouth.
your lower half trembling, kaeya’s voice sounds far away, but with a start, you realize it’s directed at you.
“you spilled something.”
you realize you knocked over your glass of wine, the red liquid spilling over the side of the table and your hand. a heavy sigh sounds from behind you, and when you turn around to meet diluc’s gaze, he seems to start, before glancing away, resolutely avoiding eye contact with a grunt.
meanwhile kaeya sends you a sly look, the gleam renewed in his eye. “oh dear, it looks like you’ve made a mess of yourself. tsk tsk, whatever should i do with you? i’ll help you clean up.”
“hey, these washrooms are single-occupant!” diluc starts, only to be waved off by his adoptive brother. he glowers at him, muttering about kicking out stragglers from his bar.
in about half an hour, you end up stumbling out of the washroom, kaeya adopting a calm pace behind you. anyone with an eye could make out the slight limp to your step, the disarrayed state of your hair and clothing.
(to this day diluc avoids looking directly at you.)

So I’ve had this hiding in my notes for like almost two weeks I think? I wasn’t sure if I should post it here, but why not lol. It’s another Kaeya x Fin(my oc), so...enjoy I guess? It’s long, but I’m on mobile so please scroll 😛 @favoniuscodex hnnn I did it 😬
Fin didn’t know how it happened.
One minute, she’s discussing commissions with Katherine, and the next she’s ducking in and out of the streets and alleys to shake prying eyes.
She felt almost as if she was being hunted. Fin wouldn’t run, no matter how much her mind urged her to, it would only bring more attention to herself.
For the last two days, Fin had been followed by either a love sick teenager or an over eager assistant; she couldn’t tell which. She had let him help her with a commission one time a few days ago just to be nice, but even after being told multiple times that Fin no longer needed help, he still came looking for her.
Normally, Fin wouldn’t mind striking up a conversation, but this guy irked her. He would either smother her in bad pick up lines or insist that she needed his help with even the simplest of chores.
“This is ridiculous...” she muttered as she glanced around to find a hiding place. “Does he not know when to give up?”
Figuring she’d be clear to just hide in an alleyway until he quit, she jogged toward a lesser known tavern. Fin was so focused on getting off the streets, she tripped up the stairs to the Cat’s Tail with a yelp, but thanks to a familiar gloved hand, she didn’t fall.
“Woah there, Speedy. What’s the hurry?”
“Captain!” Fin gasped with a hand on her chest. “Thank you.”
“Miss Fin!” A distant voice called.
Grabbing Kaeya by the sleeve, Fin dashed into the shade of the alley, pressing her back against the wall and holding her breath, she prayed her pursuer hadn’t seen where she went.
“Something wrong?” Kaeya asked with a raised brow, one hand rested on his waist. It was easy to tell she was anxious, he didn’t need two working eyes to see that. The way she bounced on the balls of her feet was a dead giveaway.
Fin turned to the Captain with a worried expression. “Kaeya he won’t leave me alone,” she breathed, dropping the formalities. “No matter how many times I deny him, he won’t leave me alone and now he’s following me.” She didn’t need to explain who; she had ranted once before about him to Kaeya at a bar.
The Knight held his chin between his thumb and forefingers. “Him again, huh? Hmm...I have an idea that just may keep him away for good, but there’s a catch.”
Fin could hear quick footsteps approaching. It seems her previous prayer was not to be answered. “What is it?” She asked as she continued bouncing on her toes nervously.
“You’ve got to play along. And you have to trust me.”
“Fine. Sure, alright, just hurry” Whatever it was, surely it couldn’t be as bad as having to endure another belittling conversation with the weirdo.
She was...half right.
Fin expected the possibility of Kaeya’s idea being wild or far fetched. What she didn’t expect was for Kaeya to grab her by the cheeks and pull her into a kiss.
Her eyes were wide, staring at the face that was now so close to hers. Kaeya, Captain Kaeya, who Fin had been crushing on practically since she’d met him, was kissing her. His lips were so soft against hers and despite the crying vision Kaeya wielded, she could feel herself begin to melt, fingers itching to move, to touch him.
Only when an azure eye peeked open to meet hers did she remember his words. “Play along” he had said.
So she did.
Mint eyes closed and gentle and shaky hands found the Knight’s chest as she leaned into him and kissed back. Her heart was pounding in her ears, yet she paid it no mind. Fin was so into it, into him, she didn’t even notice how footsteps echoed off the walls of the alley.
Kaeya could tell she was enjoying it; he could feel it in the way she pressed against him and sighed against his lips. Content with her reaction, he closed his eye and moved one hand behind her neck, pulling her closer just before her pursuer turned the corner.
“Miss Fin! There you-oh...”
What a sight it must’ve been to see the Calvary Captain of the Knight of Favonius pressing one of the Honorary Knights against him in a heated kiss. Fin’s cheeks and ears were flushed crimson, a harsh contrast to her usually pale complexion. He was putting on a show. Kaeya had one hand laced in her ponytail at the base of her neck, his other firmly grasping her hip, pulling Fin flush against him. He was enjoying this, but he still had to get rid of the intruder.
Kaeya broke the kiss with a sigh. “Apologies,” he spoke to the newcomer, unable to pull his gaze from the white haired girl in front of him. Her half lidded eyes reflected an emotion Kaeya hadn’t seen from her before and her soft lips were already flushed pink. He was hooked. “But Finnie is a tad busy at the moment, if you couldn’t tell. Come back later.” His eyes kept darting back to her slightly swollen mouth. Fin’s cheeks only darkened as Kaeya bit at his lip.
Fin couldn’t help but lean into his touch when Kaeya dragged his thumb across her cheek, awestruck at the situation she found herself in.
“Or...perhaps not. Finnie may be busy then, too.” Her eyes fluttered closed once again just before their lips met for a second time. That time, she didn’t hesitate to kiss him back.
That was nearly a week ago, and luckily for Fin, Kaeya’s plan had worked! She hadn’t seen the weirdo since.
However, as grateful as she was to Kaeya for helping her out, she hated him for the way he had left her feeling. She could not get the memory of how his lips felt out of her head, often catching herself brushing her fingers over her lips and now, every time they met, Fin had to fight back her continuously rising feelings toward the Knight constantly.
She refused to let them get in the way of their friendship. He didn’t see her any differently than a friend anyway. Right?
Wrong.
On the outside, Kaeya was no different than before the incident. Calm, cool, smooth-toned...On the inside, however, Kaeya felt a mess.
After hearing Fin’s drunk blabbering about her feelings, he wanted to look further into the situation. Did she actually feel a special way towards him or was it just the dandelion wine talking? What better way to find out then to initiate something a little more intimate between the two? He had the perfect plan; he would kiss her.
Kaeya didn’t expect for the perfect scenario to fall straight into his hands, however.
The Captain simply wanted to get a reaction out of her, see if she still had the feelings she eluded to not long ago. He never thought he would go in for a second kiss, he just couldn’t help himself...but Archons, was he glad he did.
Fin thought he kissed her just to help her out a sticky situation. Who could blame her, though? Kaeya was known to flirt with anything that breathes; how could she think he was being sincere?
He kept up his flirty act. However, he didn’t flirt with anyone but the ivory haired traveler. Any compliments he showered her with were nothing but heartfelt, straight honey rolling off his tongue. He began leaving Calla Lilies on Fin’s desk, or anywhere he knew she’d find them. Everyone but Fin herself could tell he was courting her.
It bugged Kaeya to no end.
“Diluc, I know you don’t like him much anymore, but could I ask, well, more like rant to you about Kaeya?” Fin asked, hope laced in her words. The scarlet haired vigilante sighed, setting a now cleaned mug down on the counter. Fin had caught him at the tavern during a slow lull, hoping to get some advice. She stared down at her cider while she waited for Diluc to respond, her fingers twisting the stem of one of her gifted Lilies.
“I do not concern myself with the likes of him any longer.”
Fin sighed and set her glass down, forehead falling to rest on the bar. “Yes, I know, sorry. I guess I was just hoping tha-“
“However, I have not seen him look at anyone in the same way he looks at you.”
Fin’s head shot up so fast, she nearly gave herself a headache. “What..?” Her mint eyes searched Diluc’s, but all he gave no reply, just a soft smile before he turned his back to continue cleaning. Fin’s gaze dropped down to the calla lily that had gone limp in her grasp, not sure what to think of this new information.
With his smile still present, Diluc glanced over his shoulder at the traveler, chuckling inwardly at her expression. For the past week, Diluc had been dealing with the pair pining after each other, though Fin more so kept to herself about it. During the day, she would come to the tavern to chat and relax. She only spoke of Kaeya occasionally, knowing Diluc’s feelings toward the captain.
Kaeya, on the other hand, was much worse. He would come at night when the tavern was fullest, drinking to his heart’s content and blabbing on and on about the mint eyed girl he wouldn’t seem to woo.
This was new to Diluc. Typically, Kaeya was the kind to flirt with anyone and everyone. If someone were to reject his advances, Kaeya would just move on to the next innocent soul, playing with their feelings until he got bored.
This time, things were different.
It seemed as if Kaeya only had eyes for Fin, and no matter how oblivious she was to his advances, Kaeya kept on trying. To Diluc, it was...strange.
“I’m sure he’s just being friendly. We’ve become close pretty quickly, after all,” Fin reasoned with herself. Her brain wouldn’t let her believe he felt something toward her. “I’m just his comrade...”
“Fin.” Diluc’s body faced the girl now, her minty gaze meeting his crimson one once again. “Kaeya is...” he sighed and turned away again. “He stays here late at night, running his mouth about insignificant things. But when he speaks of you...I haven’t seen him smile like that since we were kids... But I’m sure you’d rather hear from him over me.”
Fin didn’t budge as she took in Diluc’s words. She didn’t understand how Diluc could say these things so easily and confidently when she herself was sure it wasn’t the case. She wouldn’t - couldn’t - believe it unless she heard it from Kaeya. Though, even then she wasn’t so sure...
And so, after saying her goodbyes to Diluc, the traveler left the tavern, now even more unsure then when she arrived.
Fin made her way up the stairs towards the statue of Barbatos, wanting to relax in the quiet shade nearby. “Aha! There you are, Doll,” a familiar voice called. “I’ve been looking for you.” Quickly, Fin spun on her heels to face the Knight with her usual smile, long ponytail falling over her shoulder. She found him leaned up against a pillar right where she had planned to rest.
“Captain, hello!” Fin greeted, hands laced together behind her back. The smile on her lips widened when she saw the bouquet of lilies within his grasp, the familiar flowers bringing her joy. “What’s this?” A soft chuckle escaped Kaeya as he held out the bouquet for Fin to take. “For me? How kind of you, Captain. You didn’t need to do that.” She almost felt guilty, hoping it wasn’t too much effort for him to collect them.
“Of course I did,” Kaeya countered as Fin took the bundle, his smile never faltering. “How else am I supposed to relay my affections, Sweetheart?” His words brought on an instant flush to Fin’s pale cheeks. She attempted to play it off with a wave of her hand.
“Oh stop,” she huffed. She buried her nose in the bouquet to hide her face. The smell the lilies gave off was lovely. “If you aren’t careful, Captain, someone might think you’re smitten with me. Think of how heartbroken the ladies of Mond would be.” A stale giggle pushed past her lips as she played with some petals.
Fin was half joking, but her smile had faltered.
Kaeya noticed. Of course he did.
He was keen, infuriatingly so to some, and not much went unnoticed by him. So when Fin had automatically deflected into a joke and no longer met his gaze, Kaeya frowned. It took him a moment to gather the proper words. He figured the best way to get his point across the the helplessly oblivious girl was to be outright and honest, a daunting task for the Calvary Captain.
“What if I am?”
Fin’s fiddling stilled. “Sorry?”
Kaeya inhaled before continuing. “What if I am...smitten with you?”
The girls eyes widened, cheeks continuing to flush. Her heart was thumping against her sternum and her fingers tingled, yet something in the back of her mind just couldn’t believe it.
“...Kaeya, you can’t say things like that and get my hopes up. I don’t like this kind of teasing.” She wouldn’t meet his eye.
“You don’t believe me.” It was less a question and more a statement, nothing but silence following after.
Kaeya’s eye studied Fin, taking in every feature he could. He noticed how her fingers were tightly wound around the bundled stems, how she shifted her weight from left to right and back again, how she bit at her lower lip, the silence eating away at her. He had to say something.
“Finnie.” She jumped at her name leaving his lips, feeling flustered yet still not raising her eyes. With a soft sigh, the captain pressed a gentle finger beneath her chin to have her finally meet his eye. “Hey.” Fin looked up shyly, which brought Kaeya’s fallen smile back. “Can I tell you a secret?”
His intense stare reminded Fin of a week ago; the last time she was this close to him, he gave her the same look. “Y-yeah, sure.” His grin grew at that, hand moving from her chin to brush over her temple. It tucked her hair behind her ear before settling gently on her jaw.
“You are the most amazing creature I’ve come across,” he started. “Selfless, kind, brave, strong, not to mention so incredibly beautiful.” She rolled her eyes at that, pulling a sound of mock hurt from Kaeya. “Hey now, I mean it! Have you seen yourself? Save some beauty for the rest of us,” he said with a wink, well, as much of a wink you can manage with one eye.
Fin’s smile finally returned and was accompanied with a soft giggle. Her heart was racing in her chest and hoards of butterflies invaded her gut, leaving her all tingly feeling.
“There it is.” Kaeya’s thumb raked across the skin on her cheekbone. He was smitten, and helplessly so. “Can I tell you another secret, Fin?” She nodded. Kaeya moved closer, his voice barely above a whisper. “Ever since the day of your little sticky situation, I’ve wanted nothing more than the chance to kiss you again.”
The bouquet of calla lilies almost fell from the girl’s grasp at the confession, so she readjusted her grip, refusing to let the gift hit the ground. Her pulse was erratic and her cheeks flushed red. She could feel Kaeya’s left hand ghosting over her hip as if itching to hold her.
She believed him. Of course she did. With words so sincere and her desires so present, it finally made sense.
Fin’s hand found the one hovering at her side, pulling him to hold her hip before her palm found its place upon Kaeya’s forearm.
“Then what are you waiting for?”
Though not as keen as the knight, the way his smile widened and the color pink dusted over Kaeya’s features did not go unnoticed by Fin as he moved ever closer.
Looking back, she found it so silly how she acted earlier, telling herself it wasn’t true, that Kaeya absolutely did not have feelings for her. She would have to thank Diluc later for putting up with them, but for now, she’d much rather enjoy this moment with the captain.
The scene was almost identical to the one from a week ago. However, this time, there was no fear or uncertainty, only excitement and anticipation as the pair stared at each other.
“Kiss me, Kaeya.”
So he did.

you found it while you were dusting the bookshelves in his mansion, the album was kept neatly yet well hidden, almost as if somebody didnt want you to see it.
to your curiosity you opened it of course, and oh my goodness, was it such a sight
it was baby diluc! he had pampers on, hair all fluffy, and the fat and chubby cheeks- oh you could just pinch them
you literally needed to sit down for this, so you sat down by the fireplace while flipping through the album, gushing over how cute he looked.
he sure was a fat baby. and a cute one in fact.
"ahem." speak of the devil, it was the man himself.
he didn't really like you looking at his baby photos, as all of it were quite embarrassing. there were pictures of him with a shark fin hairdo in the bathtub, his first day of elementary school and so on,
he reluctantly let you go through the album anyway, cringing at the pictures while you just laughed in awe
but he definitely did smile a couple times whenever he saw his father holding him in the pictures, it really brought him back to the good times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you found them while you were looking through his office drawers. he kept it all underneath a bunch of paperwork so it was well hidden, but actually, he wasn't really trying to keep it a secret
he suddenly was behind you while you were snooping, barely getting to see little kaeya before he cleared his throat,
"i was looking for you but looks like youre busy." he said, swiftly grabbing the photos from you, flipping through them. he chuckled when he saw your annoyed face, moving over to you so you could get a better look at the pictures.
oh my god can i just say
just like diluc, he was also a cute fat baby.
he laughed a lot looking at the pictures, a sincere smile on his face the whole time, reminiscing the times he had shared good moments with his brother.
there were so many photos of him and diluc together wearing matching onesies and whatnot
he didn't really show people his baby pictures before, but now that you reminded him that he has some with diluc, he's gonna go everywhere around mondstadt to show everyone baby diluc
"have you seen this picture of diluc? wasn't he such a cute baby?" and diluc was standing behind him with the hardest glare ever

song recommendation: Beautiful Boy by John Lennon
xiao says he doesn’t really need sleep
but after you two became a couple, he definitely enjoyed it more
it’s just so nice for him to wake up next to you, or at least watch you wake up
he really enjoys it :)
what xiao does not enjoy was the nightmares he gets from karmic debt
they’re awful and drain him each time he has to experience one
the next day, xiao will need to stay in bed (not sleeping) and eating some almond tofu to recover
when he gets those nightmares they scare him out of sleeping for a few weeks
you understand him, of course, and do try your best to comfort him
but xiao doesn’t seem to understand that
Xiao glanced over to your sleeping form, watching intently as you breathed in and out. Over the time you’ve been together, he has noted that you look the most at peace while you slept. Xiao was always tempted to share a bed with you. He even fell asleep with you, but it never lasted long.
“Honey?” He murmured.
You still were asleep, not even stirring awake. Xiao cherished the fact that you were a deep sleeper, but now was not the time for it.
Xiao reached out to your shoulder and gently shook it. “I need you right now. Please wake up.”
His gentle pleas made their way to your ears. Quickly, you rub away the sleep from your eyes and sit up.
“Hm? Xiao? Is something wrong?” You asked, trying to stay awake.
Regret filled Xiao. He will admit that he wanted your comfort after his intense nightmare, but he still felt shameful for asking. Xiao just froze up as his brain tried to find an acceptable excuse for waking you up.
You finally managed to shake off any remaining sleep, feeling confused at why you were awake at this hour. When you glanced over at Xiao, it’s difficult to not notice how shaken he looked.
“Another nightmare?”
He nodded. “Sorry for waking you up. I just wanted to hear your voice. Sorry.”
You gave him a questionable look, surprised at his bashfulness.
“Xiao, it’s literally my job to comfort you,” You scoot over to his side, wrapping your arms around him. “Don’t be sorry.”
He would have protested at that, reminding you that it wasn’t your job to do that. But the way you just instantly reassured and comforted him made the words die in his throat.
Xiao let the worries and stress from his nightmare disappear as he sinks into your embrace. A soft sigh leaves his lips when you begin to press kisses across his forehead.
“Thank you,” He murmurs, “I really appreciate it.”
You chuckle as you kiss him directly. “Anything for you, Xiao.”

song recommendation: Ship in a Bottle by fin
even though she’s a very confident and loud person, beidou gets nightmares too
she has a lot of worries about her ship and crew, especially about you
of course she trusts them completely, but those worries won’t stop invading her head every time she retires for the night
usually a drink helps her calm down, but she’s been trying to lay off the drinks because she has you in her life now
the worry only worsens at night when she can’t sleep
so many questions float through her head. there’s too many what-if’s that come to mind when she thinks of them
it bothers you that she’s bottling this all up, trying not to make a big deal of it
so, one night, when she is sitting at the edge of the bed instead of sleeping, you reach over to comfort her
You reached out to her right shoulder. “Hey.”
Beidou stopped trembling and released her head from her clutches. She leaned into your touch as you rubbed her shoulder.
“I’m sorry for bothering you,” Beidou murmured, rubbing the corner of her good eye with her knuckle. “I’m just really worried about... everything.”
You scoot over to her side. “I would be too. I imagine taking care of The Crux is hard.”
“It is,” Beidou leaned into you, “but I’m good at leading them.”
You pressed a kiss to her temple. “Of course you are. You have to be if you have a group like that for a crew.”
“So why am I worrying?”
Beidou looks at you with both her eyes, trying to get something from you. Some reassurance or guidance, maybe even more praise. But Beidou only saw her sleepy partner starring at the wall, deep in thought.
“You need to ask yourself that question,” You kiss her cheek and hover near her ear. “But I still think you’re doing a wonderful job, love.”
Beidou squirmed as you chuckled. She watched you crawl back into bed and got yourself comfortable. You looked up at her and smiled.
“Everything will be okay,” You yawned. “I promise.”
Beidou didn’t look too convinced, but she pushed away those annoying thoughts. She found her place by your side and pulled the covers over the two of you.
“You really mean that?” She murmured. “All of it?”
You opened your heavy eyelids. “Hm? Of course. I love you. And I believe in you, Beidou.”
Her heart fluttered. “Okay. Thank you.”
Beidou and you found your way into each other’s arms. You guided her head onto your collarbone, lightly scratching her scalp as you did so. Beidou let out a quiet sigh and welcomed your love. She was slow to wrap her arms around you, but her touch was caring.
With each breath she took, Beidou began to become even more tired. Only after a few more moments of scratching her scalp and rubbing her forearms did she fully enter a deep sleep.
You smirked and gave a few kisses to her temple, blessing Bediou’s thoughts and dreams for the rest of the night.
“You’re cute when you sleep,” You yawn. “I bet you’re even more cute in my dreams. Goodnight, love.”

song recommendation: Anxiety Song by Human Petting Zoo
oh, poor jean
you often have to drag her away from her work, promising her that it’ll be there in the morning or on monday
but that only makes her more anxious than anything else
if jean’s not productive and spending all of her time fixing the problems; the problems will only get worse
and then everyone in mondstadt will be mad and she’ll be a fraud
and she’s not like her sister barbara. she can’t make everyone happy with a song and dance
as jean sits in your shared bed, not realizing that anxiety has consumed her, she hears your voice and feels your touch
“You better be relaxing,” You murmured. “Today is your mandatory day off. You gotta relax.”
Jean crossed her arms, scratching at her forearms lightly. “It’s easy for you to say that. You don’t have to worry about everyone being disappointed in you.”
You sat up from where you rested on the bed. Jean was on the other side of it, wrapped in blankets and pillows galore. But given her appearance, she looked like an angry marsh mellow. The chub on her cheeks puffed out as she frowned, tempting you to bite them.
“You’re right, I don’t have to worry about that,” You crawl over to her. “All I have to worry about is my amazing girlfriend, who is not giving herself a break at all.”
Jean huffed as you found your place on her lap. Her hands found yours’ as she began to fidget with that now. It was better than scratching up her arms.
“It just feels like everyone is counting on me. It’s incredibly overwhelming and I only feel like I can have a sense of control when I’m in control. And when I’m in control everyone is even more dependent and there’s even more problems going on.”
You nodded. “Don’t you have coworkers to help you with that?”
“I do, it’s just-” Jean sighed. “I just feel like they’re not meeting the Grand Master’s Expectation, and that worries me.”
“Oh? Like what?”
“Don’t even get me started on that Calvary-” Jean looked down at you. “Are you even listening to me?”
“S’not my fault your voice is calming,” You giggled. “Especially when you get all ranty.”
Jean squinted down at you. “Wait, is this one of your weird ways of getting me to de-stress?”
“...is it working?”
“Kind of.” She admitted.
You snuggled into her. “Now, tell me about your day.”

song recommendation: Mr Blue by Catherine Feeny
normally when you two sleep together, kaeya moves a little bit while asleep
casual things like moving his hands around you, putting his head near yours
...sometimes straight up whacking you with his arm when he rolls over in bed...
there have been plenty of times when he accidently scratched or whacked you while he was sleep
if you ask him about it in the morning or right there, he will apologize profusely
but the movements get really bad when he has nightmares
kaeya physically thrashes and rolls hard off the bed when he gets them
it’s almost like an automatic response his body has whenever the nightmare is ending
the nightmares aren’t that frequent, luckily
but they still aren’t fun for kaeya and you to experience
The loud thud onto the ground was only another confirmation for you that Kaeya had a nightmare. The first one was a hit to your chest, and following that was the blankets being torn off and dragged away. You were awake already, the sting on your chest fading away by the second.
Kaeya lets out a low and drawn out curse as you make your way off the bed and to his side.
Kaeya’s left eye glances from place to place in your room. His hands prop him up on the floor as he heaves a breath in and out. His hair hanged in his face, loose and feather-like when you brushed it behind his left ear. When you make contact with his skin, it freezes and slowly focuses on your face.
“Hey,” You whispered. “You alright?”
It takes him a moment before he can nod. “Yeah, just... shaken up.”
“Do you want some water or food? I think there’s some leftovers you can eat.”
He grimaced. “No, I’ll be fine. I’ll just go back to sleep.”
“You’re sure?”
“Yeah. Maybe. I don’t know.” He shakes his head, tossing his light hair and bringing a hand up to his bad eye. “The dream was just... a lot.”
You help Kaeya stand, placing one of your hands at his lower back. You two stand together, blankets abandoned at your feet.
“Do you want me to hold you?” You asked.
Kaeya hesitates before nodding. “Yes. Please.”
You bring your other hand to his lower back before trailing to his upper back. He drops his head on your shoulder. You press your chest to his as you murmur comforting words to him. His hands find your waist and hug you tightly.
The words you murmur do help him, truthfully. He might not show it, but your sweet words ease him. Kaeya relaxes enough to let out a few tears, careful to wipe them away so they don’t ruin your clothes.
After a few minutes of standing, Kaeya feels sleep consume him once again. You quietly tuck him back into bed, and brushed some of the hair out of his face. He seems more calm now, allowing himself to succumb to it.
You kiss him before he fully goes to sleep, earning a faint smile from Kaeya.
“You look like a prince when you sleep. You know that?”
Kaeya squirms away from your next kiss, making it land on his cheek instead of his lips. “Stop, you’re going to make me flustered.”
You let out a giggle and kiss his other cheek. “Alright, if you say so. Prince.”
He chuckles as his eyelids droop down to cover both of his beautiful eyes. Soon enough, Kaeya is sleeping peacefully under the blankets.
“Sweet dreams, my sleeping prince.”

song recommendation: Stay by Miranda
shenhe has awful nightmares
most of the time it’s about her worst fears and anxieties coming true
but sometimes they show her losing control and hurting you
in some nightmares, you leave her forever
which terrifies shenhe to her core
expect a worried shenhe waking up after a nightmare and quickly grabbing onto you
sometimes she’s gentle and considerate, not even startling you awake
other times her touch is so desperate it instantly startles you
she feels bad for being “needy” (literally just asking for help and comfort) when she does this
but it honestly helps shenhe when she cuddles you
Shenhe quickly sat up, panic seeming to course through her veins. Her fists clenched the blankets, the tips of her knuckles turning white. The blankets did little to comfort her frenzy mind as she tried to focus. Slowly, Shenhe looked around the room as she counted her breaths.
Her multicolored eyes found you. You looked so peaceful, so stunning and gorgeous and her’s. You weren’t gone, you weren’t bleeding out in her arms, you were here. Shenhe’s eyes softened and she gently reached out.
“Hmm?” You murmured out. “Shenhe? Are you awake?”
“I’m fine,” Shenhe replied as she cuddled up behind your back. “Just go back to bed, okay?”
You muttered something in your drowsy state before Shenhe heard you snoring away. She refrained from giggling at your sleepy voice. Instead, her hands found their place on your waist and squeezed. She knew you would tease her about it, but Shenhe didn’t really care.
As her hands felt around your body, Shenhe couldn’t help but smile. Just being with you and having you in her arms calmed her right down. It would take her a while to get back to sleep, of course. But you were here; that’s all that matters.
“Was it another nightmare?” You tried to face her. “Is everything okay?”
Shenhe nudged you back and pressed her face into your back. “I’m fine now that you’re here with me.”
“Shenhe, you don’t need to lie about it,”
“I’m fine, really,” Shenhe interrupted. “Go back to bed.”
You were still hesitant to comply, but you did. If this was how you could help Shenhe, you’d do it.
“Alright,” You murmur. “Goodnight, love.”
“Goodnight, my love,” Shenhe whispers into your ear. “Sweet dreams.”

2 years, its been exactly two years the two of you have been walking around mondstadt hand-in-hand while Kaeya was on patrol duty.. Two years is enough to have you trust him dearly, and he clearly has shown it in all the possible ways there is. And yet for some reason theres still a light pounding in your heart whenever you find him talking to one of his co-knights.
She was everything you weren't, she had money, the hair that you know never tangled and was so soft to touch, the skin as fair as and fragile as a dandelion. Her life was basically a walking pinterest board, a life you wanted your whole life, she was perfect and yet here you are drinking coffee with the man who you know would have every girl and guy have on their knees if he wanted to.
No lie, you knew what you were going to get into in the beginning of the relationship. Everyone wanted him and you were just, well, there? a baker who wakes up early to make some mora earl in the morning kneading bread and having burns all over their arms and visible eyebags. There was almost nothing to compare, with how much difference the both of you have? its as if youre comparing black and white together.. total difference.
"you okay there? you seem spaced out." the thoughts you had going on your head was soon disturbed with the man with an iced americano on his left hand. "yeah, just thinking." you replied, with that slight smile on your face. For two years, you know kaeya can read your face even just the first few times the both of you had met. That 'slight smile' plastered on your face and immediately going back to that straight face of yours after looking away his direction, he immediately knew something was wrong.
About to say something, the blue-haired man suddenly was cut off by a woman, the same woman you were thinking of just a few moments ago, the woman that was the reason as to you you spaced out not too long ago, and the maybe even the reason why you smell a huge fight burning between you and kaeya.
"hey omg, i didnt know you and i had the same day off?" said the girl, who surprisingly looked very surprised while talking to your boyfriend.. The both of them continued, leaving you behind as if you were hiding behind kaeya serving as a shadow below him. you just wanted to leave and walk out the café, you couldnt bare seeing him with the woman who youve been jealous of for the last few weeks.
You wanted to cry, you wanted to scream, you wanted to stab her with the slanted part of the straw of your drink and quickly leave while she was just there, but no. here you are looking pathetic as your eyes are locked with the floor.. your staring contest with the floor went on a little while before you finally look up after you heard a laugh from the both of them
"yeah well, i gotta get going.. ill see you on monday then!" said the girl while she played with the loose strand of her hair while walking away and waving bye to the man infront of you.. at this point youve had it, youve had enough, the emotions youve been saving up has finally whistled like a teapot on a burning stove when its hot.
as soon as you see her leave the cafe, you gathered your things with tears forming in your eyes and exit the coffee smelling place leaving kaeya confused, but as soon as he saw a glimpse of the tear that slipped your cheek as you walked away he immediately ran after you not knowing what wrong had happened.
skipping through time as you finally end up to your shared bedroom, knowing very well to lock up the bedrooms door as you rush up to your side of the bed, curled yourself up and just started bawling. you felt so insecure, as if you yourself knew that you never deserved such a man like kaeya.. his annoying demeanor you knew very well and how much of a flirt he normally is, you tried once to tell him to stop and he did, knowing he is taken and its right to make it clearly sure about how his partner should never feel insecure about him. You know he keeps his promises, its you whos the problem.
black and white, they are two different shades but then, the similar thing about the two is that they are still colors, just like how you and the woman both likes kaeya.
"y/n, darling. Are you in there? can we talk please?"
said the man from the other side of the door knocking every now and then. Your no response just tells him that youre crying, and he speculates it is his fault.
you hears keys rattle from outside and soon after you hear the door creak and footsteps comming closer and closer, until a hand finds your back and rubs and pats it vigorously as if its assuring you to know someones there for you and you dont have to be scared for crying infront of them
"is it because of her, love? i just want to tell you, yes she may seem like she has an interest for me for a few week now, but it would be impolite of me to not entertain her questions mostly if its about work. but i promise you, it will always be you. no matter how ugly you think of yourself or how you compare yourself to someone it will always be you, after this life and even in another life ill always be your soulmate.. youre basically stuck with me now." said kaeya
"it will always be you. now come and lets cuddle, your prettier when you dont have those morning puffy eyes in the morning"

Kaeya believes in the concept of “clean breaks”.
He’d first heard the term from a Sister of the Church of Favonius, when he had gone to see her after breaking his nose during Knights training. It’s a clean break, she had told him. It’ll heal fairly quickly.
He repeats it to one of his subordinates, years after the incident, when they’d broken their leg due to a particularly nasty mitachurl with a blazing axe. It was interesting to see how the expression, despite acknowledging the fact that something had indeed broken, could be used as an opportunity to comfort. He didn't miss the look of relief that had passed his subordinate’s face, nor did he forget the sigh that left him at the Sister’s diagnosis.
He repeats the expression, over and over again in his head, months after his subordinate’s leg had completely healed, and years after when his broken nose was but an itch to scratch when the nights grew cold. He did it again as he approached the door to your house, like a mantra to steel himself, when you’d opened the door and your face lit up like a child.
He’d thought the concept of “clean breaks” could still apply to you. He had made it quick, swift, harsh, even. He’d tried to convince himself that he was doing you a favor, taking the heart you had so carefully entrusted into his care and breaking it apart—cleanly, he might add—before giving it back to you.
At least, that was what he told himself.
“You look like shit,” Rosaria comments, taking the seat right next to him at the bar.
“We usually say “good evening” as a greeting,” he says casually, taking another sip of his beer.
“Good evening. You look like shit.” Rosaria orders her regular drink and a plate of crisps on the side, before swiveling around in her seat to stare at Kaeya. He knew better than to contest her on his appearance; even sweet, unassuming Klee had asked if he had been eating lately.
He picks at his food uninterestedly. “To add insult to injury, the Angel’s Share just happened to run out of that special Snezhnayan spirit that I liked,” he sighs, sending Charles a pointed look. “Damn Diluc. He’s always had a soft spot for them. His way of punishing me, I suppose.”
“For once, I’m forced to agree with him,” Rosaria replies. “You’re in dire need of punishment for what you did to poor (Y/N).”
The casual mention of their name stings, but Kaeya manages to maintain his resolve, keeping his eyes trained on the froth on top of his drink. He hears Rosaria sigh, emptying her drink as soon as Charles had served it to her, before asking for another.
“Everyone can see you’re not coping well,” she continues.
“What are you talking about?” He flashes Rosaria a peace sign. “I’m perfectly fine. Finally enjoying a bit of freedom after all these years.”
“Uh-huh,” Rosaria says, clearly unconvinced. Thankfully, she didn’t press the issue, leaving Kaeya to enjoy the rest of his meal. The fish was rather unappetizing—at the moment, he actually prefers one of those blue-fin bass blackened by Klee’s bombs—but the feeling of eating an actual, proper meal sends a jolt of delight throughout his entire system.
Maybe he should eat more.
Rosaria breaks the silence once more. “I hear that Fatui diplomatic ball’s coming up.”
Kaeya only hums in response.
“Are you prepared for that?”
“For what? Schmoozing up to people that I’m contractually obligated to despise?” He snorts. “Please. It’s what I was born for.”
“It’s also worth noting that Snezhnaya-Mondstadt relations have gone sour since the Stormterror incident,” Rosaria reminds him. “It’s a delicate situation, and Barbara’s worried about Jean. The Acting Grandmaster’s been under a lot of stress lately.”
“Not to worry,” Kaeya says, grinning at Rosaria. “Leave it to me to smooth things over. A wink here, a little nudge there...we’ll be best buddies again before the night ends. Then maybe poor Master Jean can get some proper shut-eye for once.”
“Which is why I’m telling you to get your shit together before then,” she replies. “You’re not coping well at all, and everyone knows it. Klee’s worried, Amber’s worried...hell, Albedo managed to get it through that huge brain of his that something’s off with you lately. And…”
She takes a deep breath. “I can’t believe I’m going to say this, and I’m well aware I’m the last person who can, but you’ve been drinking way more than you used to.”
“Oh?” Kaeya clapped his hands. “How observant of you, Sister Rosaria. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you’d be going back on your vows for silly old me.”
“I will cut you open and wear you like a suit.”
“Alright, alright, I get it,” Kaeya laughs. “But I still don’t understand what all the fuss is about. I’m fine. I really am. Better than ever. You ever been in a relationship for three years?”
He raises a hand as Rosaria opens her mouth. “I know, I know. Anyway, somewhere down the road, it gets boring. Duller than a blade left in the storage room for years. You see the same person at the beginning and the end of the day, you know them better than you know yourself, and you know what they like and what they dislike...there’s no space at all for discovery. It’s like...you train your whole life to climb that mountain, you sweat and cry and you hack up blood. Then once you get to the top, you look down at everything and it all seems so…empty.”
Kaeya pauses at the final word, feeling it resonate through his body, from the top of his head to the tips of his toes. “When you’ve gotten everything you’ve ever wanted and done everything you needed to do...and you’re expected to do it over and over again for the rest of your life?”
“No one’s saying you should marry them, jackass,” Rosaria snaps. “You could have at least parted with respect. And a good explanation.”
“Trust me.” Kaeya finishes the rest of his beer. “It’s better this way. It’s a clean break, you see.”
“Liar.” Rosaria says it quietly, but to him, she might as well have screamed it in his ear. “You can keep coming up with excuses, but one thing’s for sure—nothing about this is “clean”.”
He ponders her words in silence, and when she says nothing more, he takes it as his cue to leave, leaving the bag of Mora (and his unfinished meal) on the counter for Charles to collect. Rosaria doesn’t spare him a glance as he hops off the bar stool, walking—for the first time in what seemed like forever—in a straight line out the door.
Liar. Rosaria had never shied away from stating the truth, nor did she ever find it in herself to not rub it in people’s faces. Kaeya would be a fool to deny her words; mostly because he knew the truth.
Kaeya Alberich was a walking time bomb—always had been, ever since he’d been dumped on the doorstep of the Dawn Winery. His whole life consisted of him walking a fine line between dreams and reality, and when the sands of his time had emptied completely, he would explode, destroying the former and leaving him to face the brutality of the latter.
You had been a dream; an accidental, glorious, beautiful dream. He’d fallen for you the minute he’d set eyes on you at fifteen, with your sweet disposition and wide-eyed gaze. The first crack in his relationship with Diluc appeared during your fifteenth birthday party, when his sworn brother had beaten him to asking you for a dance. He’d hardly paid attention to Diluc’s beet-red face, too busy falling for the radiance of your smile as you spun round and round on the dance floor.
Kaeya had kept his smile on that day, as was expected of a supportive brother. But his desire to have you, to make you smile even bigger than that, was born that day, in the deepest recesses of the heart he had sworn to lock away.
For a few years, he’d have varying degrees of success. There were instances where he’d find your eyes already on him, shifting away in embarrassment when he’d teasingly call you out on it. He’d reveled in those moments, basked in the rush he’d get when you would return his flirty and snarky remarks
He still remains convinced that he’d done you a favor, though. How do you end a relationship that’s lasted most of your young adult life? How do you part ways with someone you’ve known for practically your whole life—that is, his life in this world so far.
There really was no other option, he’d decided at the time. Letting you down gently would be an open-ended question, a wound left infected. An opportunity for feelings to linger and eventually fester into something else. Something more painful.
It will heal fairly quickly, the Sister had told Kaeya then. His only wish was that he could tell you something along those lines, when he’d left your crumpled form in the doorway.
It doesn’t stop him from remembering it, though. He remembers it all too well, the trek from the Knights of Favonius headquarters to Springvale. He’d dreaded every step, counted every second before the inevitable crash and burn of your carefully crafted relationship.
“I can’t do this anymore.” Kaeya’s voice didn’t sound like him at all. It was like he was a million miles away, like he was speaking through one of those cups strung together by a thread (the ones that you, he, and Diluc used to play all those years ago).
“Wait a minute.” You’d sounded like you had been run through with a rusty butter knife. He’d wondered what his expression looked like to you: impassive, most likely. Cold. Uncaring. Exactly how he wanted it to be.
He had an arsenal of masks for every occasion, and today, he picked the worst of them all.
It was pitiful, the way you collapsed onto your knees in front of him at his words. The sight had tugged so pathetically at his heart, trying to wrench it out of his carefully guarded chest in a last attempt to hurt him just as much as he had hurt you. When he had turned on his heel swiftly, he thought he heard something shatter—and for a minute he didn't think it past you to have thrown something at him—but he dismissed it as nothing more than a whisper of the wind.
This is for you. This is a clean break.
He’d initially planned to tell you that he had found someone else. That he’d met someone while on patrol, fell in love, and there isn’t going to be anyone else for him but them. But aside from it being the cruelest possible way to end what he once thought would be the only relationship he’d ever need, he wasn’t sure if he could see that lie to the very end.
Because, out of all the excuses he’d come up with, it was the one he believed the least.
Kaeya enters his quarters at the Knights of Favonius housing facility, barely finding it in him to put a lamp on. He stumbles through the dark, over piles of unwashed clothes and stacks of unfinished paperwork, and he was starting to regret the lack of alcohol in his system he needed to ignore the mess.
But maybe he was drunk after all, otherwise he wouldn’t be able to imagine your adorable, scrunched-up face at the sight of his room, nor would he be able to hear your voice as clearly as if you were just behind him. If I wanted to date a pig, I would have gone back to Springvale to see any viable candidates in Brook’s pen, you would say.
And he laughs. Both in his imagination, and out loud.
He collapses onto his bed, staring at the ceiling for a couple of minutes, before reaching over to his bedside table. There were still shards there from where he’d accidentally knocked over the photographs he had of you, of the Knights at the Windblume Festival, and one smaller portrait of him, Diluc, and Crepus. He thumbs through the mess slowly, carefully, so as not to add to the cuts that his hands had already sustained.
His fingers finally run into the thing he had been reaching for blindly, and he sits up with a sigh as he pulls your old scarf onto his lap. He’d called in a favor from one of the maids of the Dawn Winery to retrieve it, days before you’d apparently visited to collect the rest of your things. It was a sign, Kaeya believed, that his method had worked, and you were responding in kind to make sure the broken bond had indeed broken cleanly.
Even when we aren’t together, we’re still a team, he thinks.
He’d allowed himself a moment of weakness, when he kept your old scarf. It was a reminder to him—of how much he didn’t deserve love, nor kindness, nor happiness. A reminder of what he was, what he had been put here in Mondstadt to do all those years ago.
Looking at it now, the scarf looks more like a spoil of war, not unlike the fur of an Abyss Mage that he keeps on his person.
Your scent has long faded, but he brings it up to his nose before wrapping it around his neck anyway.
He wonders, as he has many nights prior to this one, where you are right now. He’d caught you leaving via that mysterious device in the city, vanishing into thin air and seemingly taking his breath with you. He later found out—after some snooping that he’d disguised as gathering intel around the city—that you had been temporarily assigned to the Adventurer’s Guild in Liyue. That was nice, Kaeya had thought. You were always an avid adventurer, like your mother; the same love for discovering new lands, meeting new people, and defeating stronger foes ran through your veins. Of course, he knew better than to compare you to her, of all people…
He wonders if you’re enjoying yourself; if the thrill of adventure was enough to distract you from your misery. He imagines you exploring the plains, scaling mountains, and interacting with the locals at the harbor. And though it leaves a bitter taste in his mouth, he wonders if you’ve already found someone else.
You deserved it, after all, after everything he’d put you through. After watching promises dropped to your feet—We’re not going to be like our parents. I’m here to stay. I will never go away—only to have them snatched away.
You were warm. Gentle, tattered, but warm. And it was only a matter of time—when, not if—before he would eventually snuff you out.
This is fine, he says to himself, cursing the tear that slips out and into your scarf.
This is a clean break, he repeats, as he struggles with the tie that you’d mastered long ago, looking limp on his otherwise well-pressed suit.
It will heal fairly quickly, he thinks, when he finally arrives at the Fatui diplomat ball, his dignified, borderline arrogant strut earning him the attention of the entire room. It was attention that he used to revel in, but was it really worth it if it didn’t come from you?
I am perfectly fine, he practically insists to himself, when he wordlessly taps his flute of champagne against Jean’s, toasting to another year of Snezhnayan-Mondstadt relations; another notch in his belt of broken promises.
I am…
The door to the venue opens, revealing a familiar mop of orange hair that he’s only ever seen in classified files. Tartaglia of the Fatui Harbingers—tonight’s guest of honor—enters the scene with a swagger that rivals Kaeya’s, barely sparing his subordinates a glance as he marches right through the crowd.
He passes Jean with nothing more than a nod, making a beeline straight for the bar. His hand drifts straight to the back of some well-dressed noble—at least, Kaeya thinks they are one.
They flinch at the Harbinger’s touch, which only causes Tartaglia’s grin to widen, much like a cat trapping a mouse between its claws. They finally turn their head to look at him, and for the first time ever, Kaeya feels cold.
Nothing about this is clean, Rosaria reminds him.
He concedes to her, yet again, as he watches you gravitate towards Tartaglia with a smile, taking his heart in one final act of revenge and splintering it into a thousand pieces on the floor.

Merman!Kaeya x Reader
Featuring a gender!neutral reader
Felt like posting this here too~
____________________
There's nothing that bores Kaeya more than an empty schedule with little to nothing to do.
"So boring..."
His duties are cleared for the day, tasks completed to a flawless finish, the underwater city of Mondstadt has been scouted thoroughly on the border to ensure no invaders enter through and the mer knights are ready to retire back into their quarters.
There's just one thing, though. Kaeya can't return yet, he tells himself mentally as a shimmering glimmer of metal catches his eye on the surface of the ocean. The warm light of the setting sun helps the water reflect the shine of the unknown object floating above.
And as Kaeya goes to investigate with much caution, he comes to recognise it as an iron hook. As he swims up closer to get a better look, his hand reaches out, fingers locking around the small claw.
There's an opposing force that suddenly whips the water and before long he feels himself being dragged against a current. That is until the hook attached to a string breaks and he too with it. Eyes narrowed and brows knitted, he feels even more compelled to find the source of the commotion above the sea.
Blue iridescent scales glisten beneath light as the merman's tail flaps rapidly behind him, his arms working into a pace that allows him to drive through the water above. As he reaches the top, his head comes up out of the ocean, eyes peeking over the surface and his mind screaming at him to be alert.
Only, as his sight adjusts to the scene in front of him, he realises that there's not much of a threat at all.
Just a lonely human sitting on a rock with a fishing rod in hand.
"Curse the ocean, I almost had one! It felt like a mighty fish as well!"
They're grumbling and their fingers are fumbling around with a new fishing line to attach to their fishing rod. And archons, Kaeya is at a loss for words as the person lifts their head suddenly, their eyes piercing right through his own as he stills, too stunned to move.
They're beautiful. Ethereal, he thinks, and coming from a creature of mythic beauty himself, he finds the truth hard to be believe.
He's never seen a land folk so wonderful before, then again, he hasn't seen very many land folk in the past either. He rarely uses his legs; finding them too much of a bother to walk with like humans do on ground.
"You...what are you doing in the water? Don't you know these waters are for fishing only?"
Oh, if only they knew. The merman shook his head chuckling, creating little ripples around his body.
"Hm? I'm not sure which is more charming, your beauty or your sass," Kaeya thought aloud, and a smirk conjured on his lips when he caused a very apparent blush to appear on your cheeks.
Shaking your head in agitation, you watched him come up to shore, on the threshold of where the water meets the sand and you were shocked to find that his lower half didn't exactly look...human. In fact, from where anyone would expect legs, there was only an exceedingly long fish tail attached to a gorgeously toned and tan torso. Blue and cyan scales littered the entire appendage while the caudal fin spread like streams of sheer ribbon, smacking the surface of the water in excitement.
"Surprised? Most land folk are when they see someone like me..." he flashed a pearly grin, his wet navy strands clinging to the side of his face as he flapped his tail one more time over the water.
And you could only gawk at this living creature in awe and panic, your hands clenching around your fishing rod till your skin tightened over your knuckles.
"W-what are you...?!" You exclaimed, brows twisting in disbelief.
The unknown creature pouted, placing a hand to his chest in mock offence, using his other to prop himself up on the sand, "My, such an audacious human you are~ I ought to come over there and teach you some proper manners...oh well, I suppose that won't do much good, seeing as you've never witnessed a merman before..."
"A mer-merman?! But they don't exist..."
"Hm, then perhaps you're seeing things. Maybe I'm real, maybe I'm not. Maybe you're dreaming or maybe...you're not real," he sent a wry smile your way, his fingertips drumming his cheek in thought.
The thought flew right passed your head, still too engrossed in the fact that a real life merman has decided to intrude upon your outdoor activity.
You ignored his comment and gradually rose from your seat, taking into account that he seemed relaxed and that his smile was slowly increasing with each cautious step you took towards him.
The merman hummed in question, his brow cocking ever so slightly at your newfound bravery, "Oh? Come to find out the truth for yourself?"
You bent down nervously, your knees crashing into the sand below while your hands kept yourself from falling forward.
You could view him clearly now. Scales, otherworldly beauty, handsome face and all laying less than an arms length away.
How... how is this possible?
The thought kept playing in your mind and without realising, you must've been staring at him too long because as soon as he spoke, embarrassment washed over your face.
"It's rude to stare~"
And he may have been right, but no one has ever caught your eye like a mysterious merman before.
"Ah- oh...sorry... so, what's your name?"
Without warning, the creature's eye lit up and his hand reached forth to snatch your own, bringing the back of it to his mouth.
"Kaeya, Kaeya Alberich. One of the captains of the Mer Knights of Favonius in the underwater city of Mondstadt," he introduced, his lips tilting up a tad before he planted a kiss to your knuckles.
You blushed deeply and Kaeya could've sworn it was the most adorable thing he'd ever seen.
"Uhh, Y/n. Just Y/n."
Kaeya repeated your name, sounding it, whispering it gently on his tongue, savouring it before slowly another flirtatious smile graced his lips.
"A lovely name indeed~" he uttered lowly, his caudal fin clapping the water behind him gleefully as you thanked him gently.
Silence touched the air abrubtly and you didn't take notice that you were staring at him again, this time at his tail. The colours reflected in your eyes like diamonds and crystals, deep navy blues and shining whites like glitter beneath the setting sun's rays.
"You can touch it if you'd like," he said flopping on his back. His lonely eye twinkled in mischief but beneath that, a sense of sincerity lay hidden.
You reached out, appreciative of the fact that he didn't seem to jerk away. Your palm came in contact with the base of the tail first, the scales smooth as you felt down one side, and rough as you moved your digits against the other.
"Beautiful," you spoke, voice barely above a whisper. Kaeya seemed to like that, shuffling his tail closer.
As you were about to touch one of his fins, a sharp breath drew your hands back in surprise. In the next second, the tail seemed to dissipate into tiny blue shards and in their place lay a pair of toned legs instead.
You jerked, landing back on your arms in shock, "What just happened?! D-Did I do that?!"
Immediately, you registered that Kaeya no longer wore the appearance of a merman, but rather he was now a full adult human man, which only meant one thing...
"No, no. I usually regain my legs when I'm out of water for awhile...uh? Is there a reason why you're not looking at me, sweetheart? Am I not beautiful anymore...?" He pouted, inching closer on the wet sand.
"You're not...you...you're naked, Kaeya..."
The merman shot his gaze between his legs and sure enough, he finally understood why you were flushing profusely.
Kaeya felt a crooked smirk reach his mouth and he moved across to your body, his lips grazing your ear a little and his voice only a seductive whisper.
"You know...I don't mind if you touch me down there too~"
That earned him a whack to his face.

figure it out,
pairing: diluc ragnvindr x keqing tags: light angst, introspection, long fights/short tempers, angst with a happy ending, they’re okay i swear ao3 a/n: haha, please enjoy it <3 ~o~ It was stupid to be angry, he thought, pinching the bridge of his nose as he focused on relaxing the hold his anxieties had on his chest. It was foolish to ponder over something that happened hours prior, foolish to light a match when he knew how short their wicks were. And yet he -- they -- did it anyway, regret seeping into his frame as his shoulders slumped and his expression fell.
or, diluc ponders the remnants of a disagreement.
~o~ It was very easy, almost too easy, to realize when something had happened between the two, the tension that hung above their heads seeming fragile enough to shatter if one of them even dared to breathe.
The breaths that left him were tired and heavy-laden, accented with what could only be exhaustion as he watched raindrops slide down the window. The weather was relentless and unforgiving, merciless as it pounded against the side of the manor. He liked to think they were reminiscent of his emotions, of his feelings, of the frustration he felt as his brows furrowed together, a heavy sigh slipping past his lips as he pulled himself up.
It was stupid to be angry, he thought, pinching the bridge of his nose as he focused on relaxing the hold his anxieties had on his chest. It was foolish to ponder over something that happened hours prior, foolish to light a match when he knew how short their wicks were. And yet he --  they  -- did it anyway, regret seeping into his frame as his shoulders slumped and his expression fell.
He felt his heart skip a beat when he heard her moving around the study, the grip he had on his slacks tightening just a tad. He listened as her bare feet padded across the flower, stopping at what he assumed was her desk before fading away. She didn’t say a word, she didn’t have to, and still he found himself wishing she said something, wishing he turned around to acknowledge her presence and pull her towards him in an effort to beg for forgiveness.
(forgiveness for what? he can no longer remember, only dwelling on the memories of her voice rivalling his own, of the spit and venom that laced his tone as they looked at each other in ways he had hoped they never would)
But he didn’t, swallowing the lump in his throat as the door creaked again, a telltale sign that she was leaving.
He fingered a loose string on his sweater, watching as children ran and kicked through the mud outside. Kaeya would say this was when he should apologize. Kaeya would say they were both in the wrong and it would take more work on his part to ever get back into her good books. And,  Archons , he knew his brother was right, knew that just standing here and watching the rain fall was only allowing the problem to fester into something more. One would think with this knowledge he’d finally bring himself out of his standstill, though, in reality, he couldn’t bring himself to move, dejected as he stared at his reflection in the glass.
His eyes widened when he felt her arms wrap around his torso, her small, slender fingers tangling themselves in the fabric of his clothes as she pressed her cheek against his spine. He must have missed her while he was buried deep in his thoughts, unaware of the happenings of the world around him as she snuck up on his person.
The surprise quickly melted away into understanding when she exhaled, shaky as she opened her mouth to speak. “Don’t say anything,” she said quietly, and he nodded as he allowed his head to rest on the cool, foggy window. It wasn’t much by any means but it was  something,  he decided, covering her hands with his own. In time, he knew they would figure it out eventually, in time, he knew they would be able to sit and talk about it.
No good thing came to those who chased after it hurriedly, and so, for her sake and his, he was willing to wait.

Ahahaha..this is long overdue (it’s been in my docs for over a week, why am I like this?), but I’m rather proud of it, so I guess it’s time to post, haha!
Anyway, here is a Fieya (Fin x Kaeya) stargazing fluff piece I threw together a while ago!
Gonna try to put this under the cut since it’s kinda long...
EDIT: omg I can’t believe I forgot to thank @witchhazelbagel and @zombiep79 for reading this over for me before I posted 💜🙇‍♀️ I’m so sorry 😅
“Where are you taking me, Kaeya?” Fin asked, shifting her weight to where she could see more of his face from her spot on the knight’s back. The man in question tossed a playful glance to his lover before responding.
“Why, only the best stargazing spot in Mondstadt. It’s not much farther,” he replied, turning his gaze back to the path they traversed. He gave her bare thigh a soft squeeze. “Trust me, you’ll love it.” Kaeya couldn’t stop the soft chuckle from escaping him when he felt Fin tighten her hold around his neck.
She felt so blessed to be with Kaeya outside the city walls. The pair had been rather busy with their separate lives and had little time to spend together recently. It was Kaeya’s idea to take her stargazing on their rare night together and Fin had agreed to go easily, even though she knew she wouldn’t get to bed until way past her usual time. She didn’t care to lose a few hours of sleep to spend time with her knight. She could always sleep in tomorrow.
With a happy sigh, Fin pressed a feather-light kiss to Kaeya’s cheek and grinned. He could only see her smile from the corner of his eye, but it made his heart flutter nonetheless. “I don’t doubt that,” she spoke softly against his skin. When she leaned back to look at the surroundings, she hummed. “This is Stormbearer Point, isn’t it? Is this where we’re going?”
“My my, Finnie, aren’t you impatient this evening?” Kaeya teased Fin with a gentle jostle of his arms to bounce her.
“Hey! I can’t help that I’m excited!” The knight chuckled again when he loosened his hold on the traveler’s legs, causing Fin to wiggle a bit in protest. “Wait, what are you doing?”
Kaeya lowered Fin to the ground gently, turning to finally face her once her feet hit the ground. “It’s time for a bit of climbing, Sweetheart. Hope you’re prepared.” Fin glanced around to see the typical scenery of Stormbearer Point to be rather empty. The hilichurl tower that was usually infested with archers was barren, leaving the area in a calming quiet. She could only assume the “climbing” Kaeya spoke of was in reference to the ladders climbing the tower ahead of them. Her gaze shifted to meet the Captain’s blue eye before her tongue poked out of her mouth.
“Jokes on you, I like climbing.”
Once they reached the tower itself, Kaeya held out his hand, offering the ladder to Fin first. “After you, Angel.” He smiled with his eye closed and Fin snorted.
“You just wanna look at my butt while I’m climbing.”
“Perhaps.”
Fin snorted again, ascending the ladder, not actually caring if Kaeya stared at her ass. “Pervert.”
“You love me. Nice butt, by the way.” Fin reached the top of her ladder and stuck her tongue out at Kaeya again.
Kaeya went first on the final ladder to make sure everything was in place before helping Fin up the last rungs. “Thank you,” she breathed as she stood up straight, keeping her hold on Kaeya’s hand to intertwine their fingers. When she noticed the neatly placed blankets and picnic basket on top of the tower, she gasped, looking at Kaeya with wide eyes. “W-what...Kaeya, you did this?” She only squeezed his hand tighter when he nodded.
Her eyes moved over the area again, taking in the perfect setup for stargazing. Kaeya had thought of everything; there was one large blanket spread out on the platform with several folded blankets set nearby. In the middle of the blanket were a basket and a bottle of wine. A Cecelia and a Calla Lily were placed on top of the basket. When Fin looked up, it was the perfect view. The sun hadn’t yet fallen below the horizon, but it was low enough to cast a golden glow over the whole area. It was beautiful.
“Do...you like it?” Kaeya’s question was soft and Fin could almost feel his nerves when he asked. She didn’t hesitate to tightly wind her arms around him in an almost bone-crushing hug.
After a few seconds, Fin released her hold on the Knight to stare at his face with as wide a smile she could muster. “I love it, Kaeya, just like you said I would.” The smile that grew on Kaeya’s lips made Fin’s heart race and it didn’t help when he tugged off his fingerless gloves to cup her cheek gently. “Thank you, Honey. Who knew you were such a romantic?” she teased.
An airy laugh pushed past Kaeya’s lips and he pinched her nose gently with his free hand. “You wound me, Angel. Don’t you know it’s me you’re talking about?” From within his grasp, Kaeya could easily see the soft red flush over Fin’s cheeks as she rolled her eyes. His eyes flashed over her facial features quickly, caught in a spell under her gaze. A calloused thumb caressed the apple of the traveler’s cheek before he met her eyes. “Have I told you how beautiful you are today?”
Fin’s hair swayed gently when she shook her head. “How about you tell me while we look at the stars?'' She offered to take a step back. “I hope you packed snacks. I’m hungry.” Turning to the basket and flowers, Fin sat on the blanket, patting the spot next to her for Kaeya to sit as well. She gently picked up the flowers as the Captain sat, resting his hand behind her. As soon as they were comfortable and somewhat snuggled up, Fin stuck the Cecelia in Kaeya’s hair before weaving the Calla Lily into her own. “There. Now, show me what you packed us?”
Kaeya had come prepared for Fin to be hungry because she often was. He packed lots of different cheeses, some sausage, and some fresh grapes picked straight off the Dawn Winery vines. Fin had to scold him a bit for that one, saying “Diluc makes money off those, you know”. Kaeya didn’t seem too fussed, responding with a “He can spare a bunch or two. He won’t even notice they’re gone”. The Captain had also brought a bottle of wine and a pair of glasses.
“Kaeya, I’m not so sure wine is a good idea for me…” she muttered, only able to vaguely recall how she acted when under the influence, but it was hard to forget the raging headaches she’d get the day after.
“Don’t you worry, Sweetheart. I told you I came prepared, didn’t I?” He asked before pulling a tiny glass, much smaller than a typical wine glass, from the depths of the basket. “This one’s small enough, don’t you think? Enough to have some fun, but not too much to regret it.” Fin grabbed his arm and laid her head on his shoulder.
“You really did think of everything. Thank you, Honey.”
The pair shared their snacks, talking about both everything and nothing as the stars finally made themselves visible. Being so far from the city allowed nearly every star in the night sky. “It’s so beautiful,” Fin said softly. Being curled under a blanket and snuggled into Kaeya’s side made it hard for her to hold her consciousness, but she didn’t want to sleep yet.
“Not as beautiful as you, Finnie.” She turned her head slightly to see him better, unable to hide her flushed face at his sudden compliment. He met her gaze briefly before closing the space between them, lips brushing in a chaste kiss against Fin’s. When he pulled back, hesitant as he was, he smiled. He smiled a genuine smile and Fin swore it was far more beautiful than what Kaeya thought he saw in her. ‘You’re prettier,’ she wanted to say. “Would you like me to point out some constellations?” Fin nodded eagerly before directing her gaze to the sky. Her eyes followed Kaeya’s fingers every time he pointed to a new collection of stars. “That one there is the lion. See how it arches up a bit there? Over there is Ursa Major, and then that one there is my personal favorite, Pav-”
“Pavo Ocellus, right? Isn’t it a peacock?”
“..you know my constellation?” Kaeya’s face showed pure shock. He never would’ve guessed that Fin knew what his constellation was called, nor what it looked like in the sky, so surprised was an understatement.
Fin turned to face him again, her sweetest smile resting on her lips. “Of course I do,” she said in a very matter-of-fact way. “I...may have asked Lisa about it after you mentioned bringing me stargazing, but I love you, so...I want to know as much as I can about you, Kaeya.”
The Captain didn’t know how to respond. His heart was pounding and his face felt hot, and he knew he probably looked just as silly as he felt. He also knew that Fin didn’t care how silly he looked, she still looked at him as if he was everything she’d ever need. He felt...Kaeya didn’t know how to describe it. All he knew is that he wanted Fin to look at him in that way forever. Her eyes held all the stars and in the moment he leaned in for another kiss, he knew he was trapped eternally under her spell. Once their lips met, however, Kaeya learned that he didn’t mind being trapped if Fin was his captor.

Soooo I wrote this at like 1 am cos I needed some serotonin so this monstrosity came to be. It’s a quick little Kaeya x OC so yeah maybe some of you will enjoy it 🤷‍♀️
——————————
“Yanno, Mond is filled with pretty people.” Fin spoke with a slight slur from her perch on the back of the Calvary Captain. The night so far had been filled with idle chatter, much to the dismay of Diluc who was in charge of running the bar at Angle’s Share that night.
“Really?” Kaeya asked with a small grin, his steps echoed softly against the walls of the city of freedom. He took the long route back to Fin’s quarters, eager to see more of the white haired maiden’s drunk persona. She had only had two small glasses of dandelion wine(it should’ve just been one), but Fin was a lightweight and Kaeya found it hilarious. “Have any examples?”
A soft hum could be heard from the girl before releasing her hold from around Kaeya’s neck to count on her fingers. “Well, there’s Diluc, Jean, Lisa...My sister Lucia is really pretty! Oh! And you! You’re super pretty” Fin paused briefly, not noticing the cocky smirk resting in Kaeya’s face.
“But do you know who the prettiest of all is?” She didn’t even give the man a chance to speak before she answered for him. “Kaeya, Calvary Captain of the Knights of Favonius,” she said, impersonating the blue haired man as best she could in her state, which was really just Fin sounding as manly as she could before breaking down into a fit of giggles.
Kaeya’s breath hitched slightly, glancing over his shoulder to look at the girl resting on his back with a raised brow before returning his gaze to the path ahead of him, a soft chuckle leaving his lips.
“But don’t tell him though!” Fin spoke quickly. “That’s my little secret.”
Kaeya’s chest was filled with pride. Oh, he would so tease her for this later. He chuckled again before he spoke. “That’s very flattering, doll, but I think you’re the prettiest in all of Mondstadt,” he flirted shamelessly, curious to see what kind of reaction he’d get from the girl. The one he got was not what he was expecting.
Fin let out a snort loud enough to put wild boars to shame.
“There’s no way I’m prettier than sir Kaeya! He’s the prettiest there is and you can’t change my mind!” She huffed and crossed her arms around her escorts neck. An amused sigh slipped past Kaeya’s lips as he continued on.
“Whatever you say, sweetheart,” he teased.
A few moments of silence passed as they enjoyed the crisp night air and Fin had busied her fingers playing with Kaeya’s fluffy...thing. Said silence was only broken by a soft sigh from Fin. “Everything alright back there, doll?” A piece of her icy white hair fell over Kaeya’s shoulder when she rested her head there.
“Just thinkin...do...do you think he means the things he says?”
They were beneath the Barbatos statue now. How Kaeya got here, he’s not exactly sure. He knew he’d get to his destination eventually, not caring how he got there, so he decided to just enjoy the moment while he had it.
“Hmm?” Fin’s fingers ceased their movement against Kaeya’s clothing, her mood visibly changing.
“Well, he keeps flirting with me and it actually made me really happy. He makes me smile and laugh and have fun.” Her words were slurred and slow by now, but Kaeya could still understand what she said. “I really thought that he liked me, you know? But I realized he flirts with everybody like that too, so I dunno if he actually means any of it.” Kaeya hummed in response. “It’s really frustrating.” He had a hunch about who Fin spoke of, but he needed to know for sure, so he did what Kaeya does best and pressed on.
“And who is this?”
“Sir Kaeya,” Fin said with a dreamy sigh. Again, the man hummed in response. He was right.
“And what do you think of him?” A rather large yawn erupted from the girl’s mouth, the drowsiness catching up to her quickly.
“I already told you. He’s the prettiest. And he’s actually really nice even if people think he’s shady. I like him a lot.” Fin nestled her head into the fur draped on Kaeya’s back, another yawn escaping her lips. Her minty eyes closed as she swayed with Kaeya’s steps.
He had almost stopped in his tracks at her words. Yes, she was drunk, but the Captain did not expect such a straightforward answer from the girl. He couldn’t wait to see if she remembered any of this conversation in the morning
“Interesting.” He regained his previous walk speed on his route to take Fin home. He knew the poor girl needed her sleep, but given his nature, he couldn’t help but to tease her. “I’ll be sure to tell him the next time I see him.”
“Noooo...issa secret,” Fin muttered into Kaeya’s back before drifting off into dreamland. Another chuckle left his lips when he realized she had fallen asleep. The tease was already running through scenarios of bringing this up to her through his head. Her flustered expression was one of his favorites.
Once Kaeya had reached Fin’s home, he brought her inside and gently laid her in her bed. When he returned with a glass of water from the kitchen, he had to just stare the the girl.
She had already snuggled up to her blanket and pillows and somehow kicked her shoes off in the process. The moonlight perfectly filtered through her bedroom window, casting a soft glow upon Fin’s face. Kaeya observed in awe as her chest rose and fell with her gentle breathing; her hair was messily covering bits of her face. He took in every feature silently, internally labeling her sleeping face as one of his new favorite expressions.
With a slow inhale, Kaeya set the glass on her bedside table for her, a soft smile gracing his features. He had made a decision.
Leaning down, he moved a strand of hair from covering her face before pressing a soft kiss to her crown.
“Goodnight, Angel. Your secret is safe with me.”
